Lacey and Eddie – Alabama Wedding Photographers

Hello everyone! While we’ve been enjoying our off season and catching up on music business fun and blog posts we’re gearing up for our full blown wedding season that will start pretty soon! And with that being said we had a marathon of engagement sessions recently for our 2013 brides, so you will get to check out a few of our favorite ones! My little fingers are so tired from all the editing, facebooking and blog posting happening over here! haha I’m working as hard as I can to get these out to you all!

Meet Lacey and Eddie…I voted them most likely to be cast in a Colgate Toothpaste commercial because they’ve got the most gorgeous teeth I’ve seen! haha I couldn’t take my eyes off of them the whole session. YES I’m jealous:)This is one of our 2013 couples so I’m sure you’ll see there wedding featured here on the blog in the near future so stay tuned!

Austin Moody – Nashville, TN Singer/Songwriter

Here’s another Nashville artist that Whitney’s been writing with recently. Check out Austin Moody, born and raised in Tennessee and stone cold country to the core! haha! We just got this demo back a few weeks ago called “Every Road” and couldn’t be happier with it. We were also able to snag a couple photos of him too while he was writing with Whitney…isn’t he so good looking?!

Stevens Layne – Nashville Songwriters

As some of your may (or may not) know one of Whitney’s biggest passions in life is music. He actually graduated with a degree in Music Entertainment Management from the University of North Alabama, and is now getting back in the swing of things by doing some weekly songwriting up in Nashville, TN. As his biggest fan, I tend to tell everyone about him and root him (and his music) on.:)He’s truly so talented and I’m so so so proud of him and want to world to hear what he’s been writing. One of the groups he’s been writing with is Stevens Layne…a cool little country group that’s been making their way through Nashville quite nicely in the past few months! Can’t wait to see the success that these two will undoubtedly have. Check out the song below that Whitney co-wrote with them and he’s in the video too!:)

Cozumel Mexico, Vacation on a Boat – Fine Art Photography

Photographers need vacations too! Haha a couple weeks ago we headed out on a family vacation via a nice big cruise ship! We left from the port in Miami and set sail for Key West, FL and Cozumel, Mexico. First time that I (Bethany) have ever been on a boat overnight…much less for multiple days in a row! And YES I was a little nervous! To truly put things into perspective imagine me…as a child…favorite movie at that time? Titanic of course! I had the double VCR tape (yes I’m THAT old) platinum edition that I watched constantly for at least a year minimum until mom felt like it was “unhealthy” (so she said) to watch it that much and secretly stole it and gave it away. Thanks mom!;)Never fear though I got it on DVD many years later haha! Anyways, back to my story! So with Titanic being my favorite movie of all time you can imagine how my brain thinks a nice long boat trip will end right? At the bottom of the ocean. And with all the cruise ships in the news lately it didn’t ease my fears. I told several people before we left I’d be happy if we were stranded at sea eating pop tarts, just don’t let the thing sink haha! Nevertheless we made it! First stop…Key West! Pretty darn cool too…saw the southern most point in the United States, ate some Key Lime pie (with about a foot of merengue on top), hung out with a few crazy chickens, roosters, and baby chicks too! (literally), and saw Ernest Hemingway’s home. Stop 2 was Cozumel, Mexico! Arriba Arriba mis amigos! Despite a little bit of rain we had such a good time. Took a small bus ride around the whole island. Saw some of the Mayan ruins where we were told that they had fertility houses (can you guess what happened there?) and had several statues shaped like ummmm….let’s say male body parts? haha Well they used to be that shape, now they just look like columns. Got a quick lesson on moon cycles and the mayan religious beliefs and how they relate to the numbers 7, 14, 28, 365, etc! Pretty darn interesting. After that a quick ride to the beaches where we stopped to find some coral reef! Then back on the boat to sail home. Hope you enjoy the photos. Special guests this time around featuring our lovely Mom and Dad, Nana, brother and sister, and precious little nephew!

Signing off for now!

Swamp Wedding – Everglades, Florida Unique Wedding Photography

Hey There Friends!

Are you ready for this wedding?! Here we go…this was by far one of our favorite weddings of all time. First wedding of 2013 and what a way to start it off! Meet Kaysie and Casey (yes they have the same name haha) two lovebirds who tied the knot at the historic Rod and Gun Club in Everglades City, Florida. Looking for a few words to describe their wedding?…how about whimsical, breathtaking, colorful, glorious, unique, laid back and beyond perfect for starters. This tiny little town is full of so much magic and romance and now, after being there it’s no wonder why KC2 (this is that we’re told they go by haha) decide on this location.

COOL FACTS:

#1  - The Skunk Ape! Yes, you heard me right, their lima bean loving, stinky smelling, swamp version of Big Foot. The 1.5 hour drive down we wondered why the roads were lined with 12+ foot fences and now we know…it’s to keep the Skunk Ape out. We assumed (as most people would) it was for the gators and the exotic wildlife that resides in South Florida, but none of that more feared and more dangerous than the Skunk Ape himself. Upon our arrival to Everglades City we saw museums and paraphernalia dedicated to him. Quite amazing that we live so close and never heard of him, but I’ve read the tales and newspaper clippings now so don’t you try to fool me Skunk Ape! I’ve got my eyes and nostrils open and waiting for you haha!

#2 – The Everglades is truly a unique place…I’m not sure how the people that live there do it. As if the fences lining the highway weren’t enough we did pass a sign or two where the fences briefly stopped warning us of panther crossing. Wow! Never have I ever, but now I guess I can say I have seen it haha. And no joke, people lived, LIVED, out there where these panthers, alligators and skunk apes just roam free. Not a ton of people…but a handful of brave souls reside in this jungle! More power to them…they are way braver than I would ever be!:)

#3 – Back to the venue itself…there’s an old bank from the early 1900s that has been converted into a bed and breakfast and it was also the location where the girls got ready. The whole town was almost like being on a movie set…quaint and perfect for photography.

#4 – KC2′s guests were some of the best dancers we’ve ever seen…no limits! haha We got a dance or two in ourselves…and by that I mean Whitney danced…and by that I mean I stood there while Whitney flapped around me like a wild man haha!

We had so much fun shooting this wedding and couldn’t be more happy or blessed that KC2 asked us to be there for it and document it. You guys are so wonderful and beautiful inside and out and loved every minute we got to share with you guys.

Love,

Bethany and Whitney, GJP
