Palmer and Joseph – Franklin, TN Vintage Wedding Photography

Well…we just got back in town  from California and yes we’re STILL up working. It’s been a looooong weekend, but a productive one so we are happy and thankful! Spent Friday in a plane, Saturday doing and engagement shoot, Sunday shooting a wedding, Monday in a plane AND doing an engagement shoot! And all the down time in between we spent editing today’s lovely post and singing our favorite Swell Season tunes and practicing our harmonies (mine are good/failed attempts).  Yes…we are a little frazzled if you’re wondering! haha but that’s our lives…a never ending sea of weddings, sessions, editing, and good quality time with each other. I told Whitney this weekend how thankful I am for him and how glad I am that we not only get along but actually  enjoy spending so much time together. I’d carry him beside me everywhere I go if I could. We’ve always seemed to be attached at the hip from the first day we met and over 3 years later I’m glad to say that’s still the case. He’s a great man and lucky for me he has enough patience to put up with my (slight) bossy-ness 🙂 and constant desire to work on something. I hope that all of our couples are lucky enough to say the same. 🙂

With that being said I’d like to just say how awesome our last few grooms have been. I always brag on our brides, but I want to definitely give our grooms some recognition as well. We have met some truly awesome, eloquent, and charming grooms in the last 2 months and these ladies have been so lucky to snatch them up! 🙂 Joseph in particular is one of our favorites. I don’t think that we’ve ever seen him without a smile on his face or a pep in his step….he is the epitome of a “good” man and I’m pretty sure anyone that crosses paths with him can tell that. So kudos to Joseph’s parents for raising him up so nicely and to Palmer for calling him her own 🙂

You might remember Palmer and Joseph from the engagement session that we did with them earlier this year. When we shot with them the first time it was beyond freezing cold and this time around it was blistering hot. It’s always extreme with them! haha Their wedding was at the Carnton Plantation in Franklin, TN. It’s a lovely and very only plantation that (if I remember correctly) was the site of one of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War. It was turned into a hospital for the soldiers that were wounded there….which I thought was ironic. The same plantation that is used to celebrate life and marriage today was the same place where many people lost their lives over 100 years ago. Crazy to think about right?! Palmer’s wedding was adorned with Peonies and Hydrangeas, 2 of my personal favorite flowers! Definitely gave it a nice, light, vintage feel. And all of the china that the guests ate off of were a different pattern than the one beside it and the one beside that one! Love love loved it! We hope that you enjoy this post as much as we did shooting it.

Love you all,

Bethany
