Hey there! Not sure if you are all aware of the massive tornadoes that swept across our state a few weeks ago, but it’s been a rough couple of weeks. We’ve had towns completely destroyed with nothing left standing. Not here in Huntsville thank goodness, but in many of the nearby cities and counties it’s been pretty bad. We were without power for about 5 days (some families went even longer than that) but we were the lucky ones. Being without power was a lot better than being without homes and loved ones like some families are still having to deal with. We’ve seen an overwhelming outpour of help and support, not only from within the state from from all over the country. People have been coming from all over to help with the disaster relief efforts donating their time and money to help out complete strangers. It really is touching to see everyone working together and caring for one another. If you are in Alabama I hope that you and your families have made it safely through the storms too! As the days went on I started thinking about the poor brides that had weddings that weekend. Did the wedding still go on? How would they get ready without electricity? How could a baker bake their wedding cake without power? Or a florist keep their flowers fresh without a fridge? Hope everything worked itself out for those brides…we were thinking of you.
With that being said it took us longer than anticipated but we are finally able to post and share Lynne and Brent’s Wedding with you all! They got married at The Farm in Rome, GA (super awesome venue!) which was very romantic and perfect for them. They both love to be outdoors…Brent is a wildlife biologist and Lynne is a forester! Yes they’re pretty much a match made in heaven. That’s why they decided to get married outside surrounded by nature and everything they love. Their ceremony and reception was filled with tons of handmade goodies and mementos that made everything even more “them”. We had so much fun hanging out with not only Lynne and Brent, but their whole entire family, the wedding planner (from The Season), and the owner of The Farm. One of the most easy going weddings we’ve been to which was right up our alley. Couldn’t be happier. Congratulations Lynne and Brent! Welcome to the married life!
Boots with her wedding dress? Yes she did! And they were so cute…definitely came in handy when that earthworm crawled across her foot
And fishing lures as boutonnières? So appropriate since he loves fishing!
Ok…so this is the ring bearer! Yes I kid you not! The ring was tied to the end the string and made it look like he was toting an old fishing pole. Apparently I missed this, but when he got to his spot and turned around the pole accidentally smacked one of the groomsmen in the face! haha It’s little moments like that that truly make your wedding memorable
Lynne and her mom hand made all of the napkins! How crafty! I hated to use mine because it was so pretty.
We had some surprise guests show up that we didn’t know were there…sweet baby goats! So cute, but they had to be moved once because they started making too much noise. Glad we got a shot of them before they left.
Love these action shots! Lynne and Brent brought games to entertain all of their guests….one of which was football of course. The guys threw the ball around for a while…check out their faces haha!
Not only did they have wedding cake, but they had some of the best fried pies that we’ve ever had. Apple and peach….mmmmmm so good!
They had their guests toss lavender for their exit…which smelled SO nice! I think it got in their mouth and ears though haha. This might be one of my favorite exits to date!
